Sports News : The England team will play a three-Test series against Sri Lanka from August 21. But before that, England captain Ben Stokes got injured while playing in The Hundred tournament. For this reason, the England and Wales Cricket Board has excluded bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes from the current season of 'The Hundred' given the Test series. Workload management has been cited as the reason behind Woakes' withdrawal from 'The Hundred' tournament. 

Chris Woakes will not play in the remaining season of 'The Hundred'

According to an ESPNcricinfo report, Chris Woakes played for Birmingham Phoenix in 'The Hundred'. Now the team has made the star all-rounder unavailable for the rest of the season. On the other hand, Ben Stokes suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Northern Superchargers against Manchester Originals. The incident happened when he ran for a run and was seen pressing his left hamstring due to pain. Stokes had to be taken off the field immediately. 

So many test matches played for the England team.

Chris Woakes made his debut for the England team in 2013. After this, he has played 51 Test matches for England, scoring 1888 runs and taking 160 wickets. He is included in the England team in the series against Sri Lanka and a better performance is expected from him. 

Stokes' injury increased the tension.

Ben Stokes' injury has increased England's troubles. Because Jack Crowley is already out of the Test against Sri Lanka. He has not been included in the team due to a finger injury. Jordan Cox has been included in the team in place of Crowley.
