Sports: Shreyas Iyer is captaining India D in the Duleep Trophy 2024. After batting in the second round of the tournament, Iyer became a victim of trolling. Actually, in the match against India A, Iyer came to the field to bat wearing sunglasses and returned to the pavilion without opening his account. After this, Iyer got advice from across the border.

Former Pakistan player Basit Ali, while talking on his YouTube channel, said that if Iyer thinks that by scoring two centuries in the ODI World Cup, he is equal to Virat Kohli, then it is not so. Apart from this, he said that if he were a selector, he would not have made Iyer a part of the Duleep Trophy.

Basit Ali said, "Iyer should have scored 100-200 runs. As a cricketer, I am disappointed by this. If you are getting out in front, then your focus is not on the game and especially in red ball cricket. He scored two centuries in the World Cup, he is the winning captain of IPL, so he should score 100-200 runs here. Iyer is very lucky. Rahane and Pujara are not playing Duleep Trophy."

Advice given to think like Virat Kohli

Basit Ali further said, "Iyer has no more hunger for red ball cricket. He is only hungry for boundaries. You should give priority to this. After scoring two centuries in the World Cup, if he feels that he is equal to Virat Kohli, then it does not happen like this. Indians who like him, please forgive me, but if I were the selector, Iyer would not have been in the Duleep Trophy."

Did not get a place in the test against Bangladesh

It is worth noting that the Indian team has to play a 2-match Test series against Bangladesh from September 19. The first match of the series will be played in Chennai, for which the BCCI has announced the Indian team. Shreyas Iyer was not selected in Team India. The second Test of the series will be held in Kanpur from September 27, for which Team India is yet to be announced.
