Sports News : The Australian team has to play a three-match T20 series against Scotland and England in September. The Australian team will tour both these countries. But even before this, the Australian team has suffered a major setback. The team's star fast bowler, Spencer Johnson, has been ruled out of the T20 series due to injury. His replacement has also been announced. He will be replaced by Sean Abbott, who is also a part of the ODI series against England. 

Spencer Johnson was ruled out due to injury

Spencer Johnson got injured while playing for the Oval Invincibles team in The Hundred tournament. He has a side strain. Spencer was also not able to do well in the last matches. He took just 2 wickets in the last 6 matches of The Hundred. However, he performed impressively against Northern Superchargers by taking 1 wicket for 10 runs in his 20 balls.

Mitchell Starc given rest from T20 series

Spencer Johnson made his T20 International debut for Australia last year. He has taken 6 wickets in 5 T20I matches for Australia. Apart from this, he has also played one ODI match. In which he has not taken any wicket. Mitchell Starc has been given rest from the T20 series against Scotland and England. But he will play in the ODI matches. On the other hand, Pat Cummins is out of the tour of both the countries.

Sean Abbott, who replaced Spencer Johnson in the Australian team, has so far participated in 15 T20I matches. In which he has taken 15 wickets. Abbott is the highest wicket-taker in the history of BBL. He has 165 wickets to his name. He can secure his place in the team by performing well on the Scotland and England tour. He will also be eyeing the T20 World Cup 2026.
