There was an actor named Ashraf Ulhaq in Black Friday, who has now passed away. He asked me if I could talk to Rajpal Yadav and give him hope. So we met him at the railway station and Nawazuddin Siddiqui was holding his suitcase. This is how I met him.'
Nawazuddin played the role of a waiter
Anurag Kashyap recalled how he told Rajpal Yadav that he was casting for the film Shool and there was a role for him. Rajpal Yadav agreed to do the one-scene role. He was playing the role of a coolie.
Anurag said- his career started from there. Nawaz was also there so he asked me if I can also get a role? I told him that now there is no role left but I can keep you somewhere else. So Nawaz said that I don't even have money to eat. I will do anything. So in Shool, Nawaz was given the role of a waiter in a scene with Manoj and Raveena. Nawaz was very thin at that time. Everything started from there.
