Afghanistan Earthquake:  Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Afghanistan. The earthquake's intensity in Afghanistan was measured at 4.8 on the Richter scale. There is no news of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake. People came out of their homes after feeling the tremors of the quake. Afghanistan is a sensitive area in terms of earthquakes. Apart from Afghanistan, strong earthquakes were also felt in Taiwan on Friday. Taiwan's earthquake intensity was measured at 6.3 on the Richter scale. The quake occurred 34 km away from the eastern city of Hualien in Taiwan. There is no report of damage from the earthquake at present.

The earthquake caused devastation.

The earthquake in Afghanistan in the year 2023 caused massive devastation. More than four thousand people were killed and more than 9 thousand people were injured in this earthquake in the western part of the country. More than 13 thousand houses were destroyed. The earthquake's intensity last year was measured at 6.3 on the Richter scale.  

Why do earthquakes occur?

The earth is situated on tectonic plates. There is liquid lava beneath it. These plates keep floating and sometimes collide with each other. Due to repeated collisions, the corners of the plates sometimes bend, and due to excessive pressure, these plates start breaking. In such a situation, the energy coming out from below finds a way to come out, and after this disturbance, an earthquake occurs.
