Lahore: At least 11 soldiers were killed and many injured in a rocket attack on policemen in Pakistan's Punjab province on Thursday. This information has been given by the police. In Rahim Yar Khan district, about 400 km from Lahore, many policemen were also taken hostage when two police vans got stuck in the mud at Macha Point. A spokesperson of Punjab Police said, "Meanwhile, the dacoits reached there and attacked them with rockets. At least 11 policemen were killed on the spot in the attack, while some of them were taken hostage and the rest were injured." He said that the death toll may increase, as the condition of some of the injured is critical.

CM Maryam Nawaz shows tough stand

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken a tough stand on the attack on policemen. CM Maryam has ordered IG Police Dr Usman Anwar to launch an operation to free the hostage policemen. She said that such incidents will not be tolerated.
