International: More than a thousand people were killed and more than a thousand injured in the anti-government protests in Bangladesh in July and August. More than 400 of the injured have become blind in one or both eyes due to police firing. This information was given by Noor Jahan Begum, the minister in charge of the health department in the interim government, after visiting several hospitals.
He said that dozens of policemen were also injured in the violence during the movement. Earlier, the United Nations had said that 650 people had died during the movement in Bangladesh.
