International: Nearly one crore Pakistanis have left their country. These people were forced to leave their country in search of better opportunities. ARY News shared this information quoting the report of Pulse Consultant. The highest number of people have left Pakistan during the rule of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from 2013 to 2018. The exodus of workers and statue has increased the concern of the Pakistan government.

Most people left Pakistan in 2015

According to the report, a total of 95,56,507 people have left Pakistan in the last 17 years. In 2015, the highest number of people who migrated from Pakistan was 9 lakh. However, by 2018, a decrease of up to 60 percent was recorded.

People migrated even during the pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, about 8 lakh people left the country in 2022 and 2023. The proportion of skilled people migrating also increased by five percent. Most of those who left the country in the last two years have been blue-collar workers and working class.

The number of Pakistani workers in UAE is decreasing

Most Pakistanis migrate to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and Qatar in search of better opportunities. But the post-Covid scenario has seen a significant change. The UAE witnessed a sharp decline in the number of Pakistani workers and Saudi Arabia witnessed a substantial increase. Since Covid, Pakistanis are migrating to the UK, Iraq and Romania.
